Portugal National Visa: The job seeker visa allows the holder to come and remain in Portugal only for the purpose of seeking for work. It also allows the bearer to engage in subordinate work activities up until the expiration of the visa or the issuance of a residence permit.
One entry into Portugal is permitted with this visa, which is issued for a duration of 120 days and is renewable for another 60 days.
This visa's issuance entails assigning a date of scheduling to the appropriate services, within the 120-day visa's validity period, and it grants the applicant the right to apply for a residence permit after the formalisation of the employment contract during that time. The holder of a work visa who has reached its maximum period of validity and who has neither commenced the process of applying for a residence permit nor established a working connection must depart the country.

In these circumstances, you may only reapply for a new visa for this reason one year after the validity of the prior visa has expired.

Job Search Visa

You must indicate your interest in enrolling in the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP), the Portuguese Public Employment Service, before completing your Job Search Visa application if you are a citizen of a third country and intend to enter and remain in Portugal to hunt for a job.


You must complete the following form in order to declare your interest in registering with the IEFP:

After submitting the form, you will receive the declaration (by email), and you can then make an appointment to apply for the Job Search Visa "online" or at the closest Portuguese consulate.



If you can show evidence that you are registered as a job seeker in the IEFP, you can extend the visa for another 60 days, giving it a total validity of 120 days. Register with the nearby employment centre.



The citizen must depart the country within the maximum period of the Job Search Visa if they have not yet established a working relationship, and they can only reapply for this visa one year after the first one has expired.

GENERAL DOCUMENTATION

Passport or similar form of identification that is still valid three months after the anticipated return date. passport photocopy with biographical information;



2 recent, even, passport-style photos of the applicant in good condition (1 for this form);

proof of a regular situation in the event that you dwell in a nation different than the one where you are currently a citizen;
Immigration and Border Services' (SEF) request for a criminal record check is not relevant to minors under the age of sixteen;



criminal history certificate, with the Hague Apostle (where applicable) or legalised, issued by the competent authorities of the country of the applicant's nationality or of the country where the applicant has resided for more than a year (except for applicants under 16);



valid travel insurance that includes coverage for necessary medical costs, including emergency care and potential repatriation;



a replica of the return transit title;



evidence of having at least three guaranteed minimum monthly salaries' worth of cash resources.



Upon presentation of a term of responsibility with a recognised signature made by a Portuguese citizen or a foreign citizen with a legal residence authorization in Portugal, which guarantees food and lodging for the visa applicant as well as the costs of repatriation in the event of an unauthorised stay, the requirement for financial resource proof may be waived.



A financial capacity of at least three times the guaranteed minimum monthly wage of €705 must also be demonstrated by the signing of the duty term.
